THESPIAN SOCIETY

What is Thespian Society?

Similar to National Honor Society, Thespian Society is a hours/point based theatre honor group that commemorates students who have shown exceptional commitment to theatre, inside and outside of school.

Students who are inducted in Thespian Society will be recognized at our school as a Thespian and will be rewarded an honor cord at graduation. To be recognized by ITS, a student must pay $35 when notified to do so.

Washington State Thespians' mission is shaping lives through theatre education by honoring student achievement in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience; supporting teachers by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition; and influencing.

The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is an international nonprofit that serves as the professional association for theatre educators. EdTA is the parent organization of the International Thespian Society, a student honor society that has inducted more than 2.5 million Thespians since 1929.
